During days he works at\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.metro.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Metro LA<\/a>, one of the nation\u2019s top-five transit agencies, fighting the good fight to ease the commute around Los Angeles County. When their lead developer and CSS specialist both left to pursue other opportunities, Joe inherited a Headway-themed design (sans child theme) and the rest is history over a dozen years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joe has also presented topics at WordCamp Chicago, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"WordCamp Los Angeles (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jL2qolQvOxo\" target=\"_blank\">WordCamp Los Angeles<\/a>, WordCamp Orange County, WordCamp Riverside, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"WordCamp Long Beach (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.tv\/2019\/11\/13\/joe-a-simpson-jr-ouch-wordpress-accessibility-that-should-not-hurt\/\" target=\"_blank\">WordCamp Long Beach<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"WordCamp Las Vegas (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.tv\/2019\/09\/12\/lucky-7-dont-do-anything-until-you-hear-this-wordpress-presentation\/\" target=\"_blank\">WordCamp Las Vegas<\/a>, WordCamp Phoenix, WordCamp US, and hosts the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meetup.com\/wordpressscv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"WordPress (opens in a new tab)\">WordPress<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meetup.com\/elementorscv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Elementor (opens in a new tab)\">Elementor<\/a> Meetups in Santa Clarita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.tv\/2019\/06\/10\/joe-simpson-90-days-finding-your-place-in-the-wordpress-community\/\" target=\"_blank\">life-threatening heart event<\/a>&nbsp;and a brief leave of absence sparking a journey to rediscover the things that healed and nurtured him led him back to a love of WordPress and all things creative.
